ESi routinely conducts testing to address issues regarding alleged malfunctions, clearances, guarding requirements, failure analysis, product design, design evaluation, and materials analysis. ESi’s experts identify applicable standards and also address warnings and labeling requirements.
Data from the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and National Electronic Injury Surveillance System (NEISS) databases is also used for our analyses. Where appropriate, human volunteers and surrogates are utilized to evaluate the performance envelope, capabilities, limitations, and design of the equipment. Under potentially injurious scenarios, anthropomorphic test devices (ATD's) can also be used to assess injury potential.
Frequently, FARO scanning is utilized in ESi’s analysis of sports and exercise equipment in comparing subject and exemplar equipment and to create 3D models of the equipment. In preparing reports and exhibits for potential use at deposition and trial, our Visualization group can create animations of the product in use, exploded parts diagram views, and storyboards.
ESi's expertise spans dozens of industries and specializations organized across several practice groups, each staffed by dozens of in-house experts with the technical knowledge, hands-on expertise, and courtroom experience required to execute projects for and with our clients from start to finish.
