Commercial Marine
Our commercial marine experts work with clients to provide comprehensive and efficient solutions for their commercial marine issues. We reconstruct and analyze losses in detail to uncover the component failures, human errors, and other factors that may have contributed to the loss. With qualified experts conveniently situated around the United States, we are able to rapidly deploy engineers/investigators to the site of any incident, domestic or international, to begin the process of safely gathering and preserving evidence and documenting the scene.
Our commercial marine team is composed of naval architects, marine engineers, structural, mechanical, materials and electrical experts, and fire and forensic investigators, with experience in virtually every aspect of the maritime business. These experts are well-qualified to provide a full range of technical services related to ship/platform design and analysis, fabrication, dockage, and admiralty loss claims. Whether the issue involves cargo loss, hull integrity, auxiliary and propulsion equipment, storm damage, or stability analysis, we have the experience and expertise to help.
Our ability to call upon the biomechanical, electrical, and materials engineers (and other technical specialties) that work in ESi’s other practice areas make it easy to work efficiently without involving outside consultants, giving them access to the specialized expertise they need without delaying their projects or making them more costly.
Our experts are also members and contributors to organizations such as the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME), the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and others dedicated to creating and enforcing standards for the industry to keep our waters safe for the people who work or play in them.
In a challenging and technically diverse project, ESi and our partner Oceanus provided engineering and marine survey support for crane barge operations.
ESi was able to review and completely refute the validity of plaintiff and co-defendant testing and claims that our client’s product was defective.
ESi's expertise spans dozens of industries and specializations organized across several practice groups, each staffed by dozens of in-house experts with the technical knowledge, hands-on expertise, and courtroom experience required to execute projects for and with our clients from start to finish.
